This is where I begin to tell the story of my time in Chichijima, Ogasawara Islands, Japan. I was there from March 9th to May 20th, 2007 and during that time I worked as WWOOFer for the first time in my life. Since this happened some time ago, what I’m writing here is a recollection of the events at the time, seen through the lens of time. It might lack the freshness of an everyday dairy, but it is rich in insight on the meaning of each event and how they each led to the next, bringing me to the present moment. I consider my time in Chichijiima as one of the most life changing experiences I’ve been through and my greatest journey so far. I hope it is useful to anyone interested in Japan, in WWOOFing or in visiting an amazing National Park in Far South East Asia.

Aquí empiezo el relato de mis andanzas como voluntario en el archipiélago de Ogasawara, Tokio, Japón y más concretamente en la isla de Chichijima. Allí viví del 9 de marzo al 20 de mayo de 2007. Estas cartas las escribo trasladándome atrás en el tiempo, reviviendo todos los acontecimientos que rebosaron mi estancia en la isla y compartiendo cómo me sentí durante uno de los viajes más increíbles de mi vida. Así que aunque este blog no esté escrito en tiempo presente, espero que sea igualmente interesante de leer para todos aquellos que quieran aprender un poco de Japón, los que quieran saber qué significó para mí trabajar de WWOOFer o aquellos que quieran visitar un increíble Parque Nacional en medio del Pacífico.
